If you have followed my work for a long time you’ll know that I have had several major evolutions. From all hollow-forms and no stones to open frameworks full of gems…organic, curvilinear designs to polygons and angularity. For me there is cohesion through all of these visual and technical transitions as they have all come from the same questions and explorations.
Oftentimes over the years these shifts have happened behind closed doors, only being revealed when I was sure that I was ready. Something is shifting again and instead of hiding away in the safe spaces of my studio I want to share some of that journey with you.
The theme of this collection is “Exploration and Experimentation”. You’ll see pieces that make sense to you, that are obviously mine, but in each I am asking a question, some technical and some conceptual. Other pieces will feel very different, like outliers, exploring ideas around color, connections, negative space and asymmetry. I’m having fun and allowing my creativity to explore with less parameters. Sometimes exploration and experimentation don’t work, so I have had some failures too (don’t worry, no failed pieces made it into the final collection), but they always answer questions. And I am sharing because perhaps I can offer you the freedom to explore and experiment .... and some really beautiful jewelry as well.
